BaswareOne - Bizconnect Client upgrade to TLS 1.2 and decommission of Bizconnect server

Summary:
This article provides information about the upcoming Bizconnect Client release with TLS 1.2 support and the planned decommissioning of the Bizconnect Server. It also explains the actions customers need to take to prepare for these changes.

1. Bizconnect Client: New version with TLS 1.2 support planned for December 2026
A new version of the Bizconnect Client is planned for release on December 19th 2026. The new version will support TLS 1.2 for secure connections.

Because TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 are outdated protocols, the new Bizconnect Client will no longer support them. Connectivity for sending and receiving documents using the old Bizconnect Client will no longer be supported after [February 27th,2027] in staging (test)  and [April 30th,2027] in production.

What this means for you:
Your service will be disrupted when Basware removes support for the older TLS versions on the dates mentioned below if you don’t upgrade or switch your connection type. After February 27th,2027 Bizconnect Client will connect only over TLS 1.2 in pre-production, and after April 30th,2027, Bizconnect Client will connect only over TLS 1.2 in production. Connections using TLS 1.0 or TLS 1.1 will fail.

What you need to do:-

Once the new version is available:

  1. Log in to your BaswareONE account - go to Account/Download.
  2. Please take a backup / rename the folder of the old bizconnect to bizconnectOLD.
  3. Download the new Bizconnect Client executable (.exe).
  4. Migrate the required configuration files from the existing client installation to the new client installation.
  5. Start using the new Bizconnect Client.

For additional information about downloading and configuring the new client, see the FAQ section below.

2. Bizconnect Server: Planned decommissioning in [April 2027]
Basware will no longer maintain or upgrade the Bizconnect Server. The tool will not receive updates, fixes, or enhancements. Connectivity for sending and receiving documents using the Bizconnect Server will no longer be supported after [February 27th, 2027] in staging and [April 30th, 2027] in production.

What you need to do:-
Customers currently using the Bizconnect Server should plan to migrate to a different connection type completely; not changing this will lead to service disruption.

Please contact the Basware Support team to raise a change request to discuss the best solution for your needs (billable effort may apply for connectivity changes). Our team will be happy to support you throughout the migration journey.
We recommend starting the migration planning early to help ensure a smooth transition and minimize the risk of disruption to your existing data flows. The time and effort needed depend on the solution chosen.
