How to create Categories in Marketplace


Instructions

In release 23.9 we released an updated Categories version (later to named Shortcuts). These Categories now give you the ability to:

 

 

The steps to create a Category remain the same, Categories are added to Views and are displayed on the Marketplace landing page for the users that are assigned to that View.

 

How to Create a Category

 

  1. Go to Product Manager > Views.

2. Click the name of a view to open it.

3. In the Categories section, click the cog button A blue and white logoDescription automatically generated

4. Click the drop-down arrow from > Category and select the Type of option you wish to add:

  1. In the Name field, type the name of the category.

  1.  In the Search field, type the keywords to search when a catalogue user selects that category. I.E Computer, Mouse, Keyboard

Separate multiple keywords with a space or Comma

  1.  Repeat steps 2-4 for each category that you want to create.
  2. To add an icon to the Category the image must already be in your Media Directory. Click the A box with arrows on itDescription automatically generatedicon to bring up the options and select the image you need.

How to create a Heading

 

  1. Go to Product Manager > Views.

  1. Click the name of a view to open it.
  2. In the Categories section, click the cog button A blue and white logoDescription automatically generated
  3. Click the drop-down arrow from > Heading
  4. In the name field, type the Heading in the box:6.

  1. To add an icon to the Heading the image must already be in your Media Directory. Click the A box with arrows on itDescription automatically generatedicon to bring up the options and select the image you need.

How to add a Link to a Direct Item

 

  1. Go to Product Manager > Views.

  1. Click the name of a view to open it.

  3. Click the drop-down arrow from > Item

  1. Select the cog button and a list of available items will appear for you to select.

Note: The logo for the item is taken from the image related to the item. If it is a punchout, it is the punchout logo. If the supplier has not attached an image to the item you have used, a logo will not appear.
