This document contains descriptions of new features in Basware Travel & Expense 22.4 and its maintenance releases.

2 New Feature Descriptions

2.1 New Edge

2.1.1 New Edge: Approving documents

Audience: Approver Users

TEM users can now approve documents using the new user interface. When a user has approval tasks, they can see the number of documents to approve on the home page. By clicking the home page notification, the user navigates to the list of documents to approve.

Additionally, approvers can click Documents approved by me to find their previously approved documents quickly. 

 


From the list of documents to approve, users can quickly act on them by clicking Approve or another available action. 


If needed, the user can click a document to open a detailed view, then act on the document from there. Information such as travel information, attachments, and more are available on the details page.

 


On document details page, under Header data, there is a Search icon next to the employee’s name. The approver can click that icon to quickly search documents where the current user is or has been the approver.

 

Aggregated Task lists may be configured to get approval tasks from different tenants. Contact Basware Support to enable the feature.

2.1.2 New Edge: Reviewing documents

Audience: Reviewers

TEM users can now review documents using the new user interface. When a user has review tasks, they can see the number of documents to review on the home page. By clicking the home page notification, the user navigates to the list of documents to review.

From the list of documents to approve, users can click any document to see its details and take action on it. 


Information such as travel information, attachments, and more are available on the details page. The actions buttons show all actions that the user can take on the document. 

 

Aggregated Task lists may be configured to get review tasks from different tenants. Contact Basware Support to enable the feature.

2.1.3 New Edge: Travel secretary support

Audience: Travel Secretaries.

The new user interface now supports travel secretaries. The secretaries can work on behalf of other users to create, edit, and send documents to workflow. 

After logging in, the user can click Select user and select the user on whose behalf they want to work. 

A banner is displayed below the navigation bar that contains a list of users that the secretary can select. After the secretary select a user to act on behalf of, the page refreshes and shows the documents, attachments, and other information for the selected user. 

The banner stays visible so that the secretary can select another user at any time. The secretary can edit the user’s documents, create new documents, or add attachments. The secretary may also delete the user’s favorite items. All other settings on the User settings page are the secretary’s own settings and will not apply to any selected users. When acting on behalf of someone else, the Tasks tab is not visible to the secretary. 

To stop working on behalf of other users, the secretary can click Exit on the banner. They will return to their own documents and tasks.

In the new TEM user interface, users can print travel documents by clicking Print. Travel documents in any status can be printed. Both HTML and PDF print formats are supported.
