Fraudulent Basware emails used for phishing


Summary:

We have learnt from some of our customers in the UK and Germany that they have recently received fraudulent emails that mimic official Basware emails. We are asking all customers to delete these messages without taking any actions, as the emails do not come from Basware.

How to spot a fraudulent email:

The fraudulent emails can be recognized from the sender’s email address and URLs. Please find examples below to help you and your staff differentiate between official Basware communications and fraudulent communications:

Examples of wrong e-mail senders:

E-mails from Basware always contain ...@...basware.com, for example no-reply@basware.com or no-reply@orders.basware.com.

Examples of wrong links:

The link from official Basware notifications always links to https://...basware.com/..., for example https://portal.basware.com/....
