Summary:
When running the Basware Message application, it can display the following error message:
- Error obtaining a new document number: document with id XXX already exists
For every document sent, the program has a counter that is updated and always in sync with a value existing on our servers. The value is stored on your machine inside a configuration file.
This can happen for the following reasons:
- The file is corrupted;
- The file was restored from a backup;
- The file was affected after a system restore;
- The application was installed again and the document counter has been modified;
Checklist:
Write to us and mention your Sender ID requesting to the document counter value.
The Sender ID can be found by following these steps:
- Open the Configuration of Basware Message;
- In the Local Configuration tab, locate your ID;
After receiving the correct value from our Customer Support, please proceed with the resolution.
Resolution:
- First activate the option to see hidden files and folders;
- For Windows versions newer than Windows 7:
- For Windows XP and Windows 7:
