Summary:

The entire installation can be moved to another computer.

Checklist:

• If you got access to your old machine, you can copy the whole configuration to your new machine;
• If you do not have access to your old machine please ask our Customer Support for the Sender ID;

Resolution:

• First start the software again on the old computer to check the configuration;
• If you can't start the software and the error Another instance is already running appears, please stop the Basware Message Service (Open the Services either by searching for services.msc in Wndows or by opening Task manager-> Services ->Select the Basware Message service and stop it);

 

• Try starting the application again and click on Configuration;

• If you are moving the software to another machine, you should copy all the folders that are listed here to the new system;
• If you are using a company paper or a watermark, move them to the new system too;
• You can copy the complete program configuration to the new system. To do so you have to copy two files from the old computer. The location of these two files depends on the operating system and whether First Businesspost Message or Basware Message is installed
• Open one of these folders (depending on whether you are using First Businesspost Message or Basware Message);
• First Businesspost Message on Windows 7 32 Bit: C:\Program Files\First Businesspost\1stbp Message\;
• First Businesspost Message on Windows 7 64 Bit: C:\Users\Public\First Businesspost\1stbp Message\;
• Basware Message on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Basware\Basware Message\ ;
• Basware Message on Windows Vista, 8, 8.1,10 and Windows Server 2008 or newer: C:\ProgramData\Basware\Basware Message\ ;
• Please note that in most cases this is in C:\ProgramData\Basware\Basware Message\;
• Copy the file ftp.properties with a text editor(not the ftp.properties.bak) and KeyStore.jks;
• Download and install Basware Message on the new machine.You can use this address to find all the available versions: Basware Message: Download;
• Choose your language;

• Click on Next;

• Choose your country. Then click on Next;

• After you have read the license agreement, you can agree to this and then click on Next;

• Select Server – Basware Message main application and then press Next;

• Select Custom;

• If you do not need the Message Printer (because you are sending PDF-files directly or other formats) then deselect the Basware Message Printer;
• If the software is installed on a server and will be running as a service in the background, select the Message Service;

• Click on Next;
• Now just click on Install and the installation will begin;

• If the printer is installed, this window will appear;

• Port name: Here you can enter a name for printer;
• Gateway number: 4900 fort the German Gateway;
• Output folder: this is the Local path. Message will send the documents from here;
• Then the installation is done. You can click on Finish now;

• Paste ftp.properties and keystore.jks in the path C:\ProgramData\Basware\Basware Message\ on the new machine;
• Start the program;
• If there are not exactly the same folders on the new system as in the old one, the program will show this error. Please click on Yes;

• Open the Basware Message Configuration;
• Please edit the paths according to your new server configuration;
• If all folders are correct now, save the configuration by pressing OK;
