Summary:
Download Manager is a Java application that can be used to connect to our servers and retrieve the documents that you need to receive.
Checklist
- If you already have a Download Manager installation that needs to be moved to another machine please use Guide 1;
- If it is a new installation please follow Guide 2;
Resolution:
Guide 1:
- Your files can only be downloaded from one Download Manager installation at any given time.When changing to a new machine, the old installation needs to be deactivated;
- First open the application. If an error appears stating that Another instance is already running, it means that either the software was already opened by another user or that the Download Manager Service is started;
- Check if the application is already opened. If it isn't, open your Services tab and stop the Download Manager Service;
- After this try starting the application again and click on Configuration;
- You can copy the configuration details and use them on the new machine or you can copy 3 files that contain the whole configuration of the old machine;
- To find them you will need to access one of the paths below depending on the Download Manager version and also Windows version:
- First Businesspost Download Manager, Windows 32 Bit: C:\ Program Files\First Businesspost\1stbp DM\
- First Businesspost Download Manager, Windows 64 Bit: C:\ Users\Public\First Businesspost\1stbp DM\
- Basware Download Manager, Windows XP and Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Basware\Basware DM\
- Basware Download Manager, Windows Vista or above, Server 2008 or above: C:\ProgramData\Basware\Basware DM\
- Find and copy the following files to the new machine: download.properties, certificates.jks and Attr-Certs.dat;
- After you install Download Manager on the new machine, you will need to deposit the above mentioned files into C:\ProgramData\Basware\Basware DM;
- Please continue and install the program as described in Guide 2.
Guide 2:
- The software can be downloaded from here: Software Download;
- When the download is finished, you can start the installation;
- Select your language;
- If you need the service, select Complete;
- If you do not need the service, select Typical;
- After a few moments the installation will be over, so click on Finish;
- Please open the software using the new shortcut on your desktop;
- You can configure the software to reflect your new paths;
- If you have moved the configuration and you have copied the 3 files download.properties, certificates.jks and Attr-Certs.dat properly, your configuration should look like the old one;
- Please edit the paths now like they are on your current system. If the program will be launched as a service, all paths need to be in UNC-paths;
- If everything is correct, click on OK. You have moved the main program now to the new system;
- If some folders are not the same anymore, this error will appear. Click on Yes to modify the configuration;
- If you are using the service, please make sure that the user starting it has full read and write access into every folder used by the application;
- Your application is ready to use;
