I receive documents from Basware BT to my on-premises Alusta or Basware IP system


Overview

This page contains information relating to the Basware BT to Amazon Web Services migration on 19th November 2017 for the below receiving methods.

IP Information

Please see the new IP details below.  Please note that only the IP address will change.  The DNS name and port will remain the same.

BT services should be accessed via the DNS name. The IP addresses are only to be used to create firewall rules and testing new connections.

What you need to do

To make sure that your receiving application can successfully connect to the new AWS Basware BT service, please can you carry out a telnet test from your server towards our new IP address.  The required commands can be found below.

Command: telnet 34.249.210.230 443

Expected response: The command prompt will move to a blank screen when it connects.

Troubleshooting

Problem:

Telnet test was not successful.

Solution:

Please contact your IT system administrator and tell them to allow network firewall outbound connections from TCP IP address: 34.249.210.230 on port 443.

 

Problem:

I'm using Basware IP, the telnet test was successful, but my documents still aren't arriving from Basware BT.

Solution:

Please restart the Windows service that is running BTIPC.

 

Problem:

I'm using Purchase-to-Pay, the telnet test was successful, but my documents still aren't arriving from Basware BT.

Solution:

Please restart the Purchase-to-Pay Task for BT Import.

 

Problem:

I am connecting to Basware service directly with IP address instead DNS name. I cannot connect with DNS name due restrictions in my network.

Solution:

Please start using the new IP address from 19th November.

 

Problem:

My company has firewall restrictions for outbound connections and I am not able to change my network firewall in time for the migration date on 19th November 2017.

Solution:

The old IP address will be available until January 2018. If you want to keep using the old connection temporarily, then you need to modify the hosts file. Please see the instructions below:

Modify your hosts file

Modifying your hosts file enables you to override the DNS for a domain, on that particular machine. Modifying your hosts file causes your local machine to look directly at the IP address specified. For more information, such as the location of hosts file within different environments, please review the Wikipedia article:

To modify the hosts file, you add two entries to the file that contains the IP address that you want the site to resolve to and the address. Please note that you have to open the hosts file as an administrator.

Add the following row to the hosts file and then save the file.
217.77.196.177 bt.basware.com

Now the connection to bt.basware.com will use the old IP-address (217.77.196.177) instead of the new IP-address (34.249.210.230). Please see this image for further illustration.
