As part of our ongoing commitment to security, all hyperlinks embedded in PDF invoices will be disabled from 25.11 release onward. This change will be automatically applied to all customer environments.
Why this change is being made:
Hyperlinks in PDF invoices can pose security risks and removing them helps ensure safer document handling and distribution. While Basware strongly recommends this change for enhanced security, we understand that some customers may have specific use cases that rely on PDF links.
How does it affect the end users?
This update only affects the embedded hyperlinks (such as URLs or email addresses) within invoice PDF images shown in the Images section when viewed in Basware AP&P.
These hyperlinks will still appear visually as clickable links. However, clicking on them will no longer trigger any action.
there is no change to the underlying data.
Example:
In the invoice below, the text “DEMO-Sliced Invoices” will still look like a hyperlink.
Opt-out option:
If you wish to retain hyperlink functionality in your PDF invoices, you may opt out of this change. However, please note that by doing so, your organization accepts full responsibility for any potential risks associated with PDF link behavior.
