Some users may not receive email notifications after being added to an invoice discussion, even though the discussion message is created successfully in AP Automation.
Issue Start: July 07, 2026
Impact Summary
This issue affects discussion notifications sent from invoice discussions in AP Automation. When a user starts a discussion and selects one or more recipients, the discussion itself is saved correctly, but the expected email notification may not be sent to the recipient.
To the customer, this can appear as inconsistent or missing email communication. A user may be tagged in a discussion and still not receive an email, even though the message is visible inside the product. This can delay reviews, approvals, or follow-up actions because users may rely on email alerts to know that a discussion message was sent to them.
Cause
The issue was caused by a problem in the email notification generation logic used for some discussion messages. In certain situations, the application could create the discussion entry normally, but the related email content could not be generated correctly. As a result, the email notification was not sent.
This was an application-side issue and was not caused by user actions or customer configuration.
Workaround
While the permanent fix is being deployed, users can continue working with discussions directly in AP Automation.
Solution
A product fix has been completed and included in version 26.8. The fix addresses the application behavior that prevented some discussion notification emails from being generated and delivered correctly.
If your environment has not yet received this version, the issue may still be visible until the update is deployed to your phase. After the fix is available in your environment, discussion email notifications should be sent normally for the affected scenario.
