Basware 2-step verification

Summary:

Some Basware services support optional 2-step verification, which you can turn on for the safety of your account. These services have a link in My Account or My Settings for enabling it.

Security vulnerable content may require 2-step verification from you before you are entitled to see that content. In this case a Basware service will request you to setup 2-step verification for your account and only after that allows you to see the content.

Instructions:

2-step verification has two alternatives:

Setting up the 2-step verification requires that you have authenticated yourself and that you have a suitable device available. If you want to use an authenticator application, you need to download and install that application first. There are free TOTP authenticator applications available for most devices.

You can set up either one or both 2-step verification alternatives. If you set up both, one of the methods is default and the other method is the backup. We recommend that you define both the phone number and authenticator application so that you can select another method if your preferred method has issues.

If your phone number changes:

If you have set up both phone number and authenticator application in 2-step verification settings, you can use authenticator application to log in, then go to 2-step verification settings and set up your new phone number.

If you have only a phone number set up for 2-step verification and your phone number changes, you need to have the old phone number available. You can then log in and receive the authentication code to your old phone number. Go to 2-step verification settings and change the phone number in your settings to start using the new number to receive the 2-step verification codes.

If your device changes:

If you have set up both phone number and authenticator application in 2-step verification settings, you can use your phone number to login, then go to 2-step verification settings and set up the authenticator application for your new device.

If you have only authenticator application setup for 2-step verification and your device changes, you need to have the old device available. You can then log in using the authenticator application on your old device. Go to 2-step verification settings and set up authenticator application on your new device.

If your device and phone number change:

If you get both a new device and a new phone number, you need to have old phone number or device available. You will login with old phone number / authenticator application on the old device, then go to 2-step verification settings, set up 2-step verification for you new phone number, and set up authenticator application for your new device.
