Insights - Data is restricted error on Insights Dashboards

This article provides guidance on resolving the “Data Restricted” error that users may encounter in Insights Dashboards.

 

 

Description:

A user may receive a "Data Restricted" error even when all user rights appear to be correctly assigned. In many cases, the issue is caused by an incorrect or missing Row Level Security (RLS) mapping.

RLS mappings are created automatically whenever rights are assigned to a new user. If this mapping is not generated correctly, the user may be unable to view data on the dashboards.

This mapping is also refreshed every night.

 

Instruction for solution:

1. Wait for one day and check again next day once the mappings are refreshed.

2. Revoke and Reassign User Rights

If the user is receiving the Data Restricted error:

This will regenerate the RLS mapping and typically resolves the issue.

If the user still encounters the error after user rights have been revoked and reassigned: Contact Basware Support for further investigation.
