Summary:
Basware Message can experience connectivity issues between the machine where it is installed and our Gateway servers.
Checklist:
Please check if one of the following errors is displayed when a data transmission is initiated:
- Error uploading files: Server returned HTTP response code: 400 for URL: …
- Error uploading files: HTTP Authentication Failure: unknown block type
- Error uploading files: HTTP Authentication Failure: input too large for RSA cipher
These error messages mean that the software could not authenticate properly;
There are two possible reasons for this:
- You have reinstalled the software with the same sender-ID (the software is currently still registered on an old computer)
- Or the registration on your PC is damaged;
Please check which version of Basware Message are you using (this is mentioned in the notification panel when you open the application);

Resolution:
- If the software has been reinstalled, please follow these instructions: Reinstallation - Basware Message;
- If the software has not been reinstalled, the registration could be damaged;
- Search for your Sender ID you are currently using;
- The Sender ID can be found by opening the Configuration of Basware Message;

- In Local Configuration you can find your ID;

- Write to us and mention your Sender id requesting to reset the Public key (for Basware Message LE) and also to have the document counter value (for Basware Message);
- After having confirmation from our Customer Support that your key was reset (and if necessary the document counter value was provided by the support consultant) please use Guide 1 for Basware Message LE and Guide 1 + Guide 2 for Basware Message;
Guide 1:
- Open Basware Message and click on Configuration;
- Go to Server Configuration and click on Exchange public keys;

- Confirm all upcoming notifications and initiate a data transmission;
Guide 2:
- If you are using Basware Message please follow the above steps from Guide 1 and continue with the ones described below;
- First activate the option to see hidden files and folders;
- For Windows versions newer than Windows 7:

- For Windows Xp and Windows 7:

- Close the Basware Message software, and open one of these folders (depending on whether you are using First Businesspost Message or Basware Message):
- First Businesspost Message on Windows 7 32 Bit: C:\Program Files\First Businesspost\1stbp Message\
- First Businesspost Message on Windows 7 64 Bit: C:\Users\Public\First Businesspost\1stbp Message\
- Basware Message on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Basware\Basware Message\
- Basware Message on Windows Vista, 8, 8.1,10 and Windows Server 2008 or newer: C:\ProgramData\Basware\Basware Message\
- Please note that in most cases this is in C:\ProgramData\Basware\Basware Message\
- Open the file ftp.properties with a text editor(not the ftp.properties.bak);
- Search for the entry invoiceNo.0=XXXXX. XXXXX is your currently deposited document counter. Please exchange this with your actual counter received from our Customer Support then save the file and close it.

- Start the program and initiate a data transmission.
