Summary:

When opening the 1stbp Message or the Basware Message application the error Another instance is already running is displayed.

Checklist:

• It can be that the application is opened on a secondary monitor. Please make sure that in your task bar you do not have it started already;
• If it's installed on a server, another user could have started it already. You can check this by opening Task Manager and in the Users tab you can find all the processes that are active for them;

• The error can also be generated if you close the application and try to open it fast (in an interval of a few seconds). The Basware Message process, needs a few moments to stop completely. You can open the Task Manager and in the Processes tab find if the application is active and stop it;

• If this is all correct please continue with the resolution;

Resolution:

• If you made sure that the application is not opened the software could be running as a service in the background;
• You can close the service by opening Task Manager and select the Services tab;

• Then right click on the Basware Message service and choose Stop;
