Summary:

If you are going to install Basware Message for the first time, you will have to choose if it will be a client or server installation. 

Checklist:

The differences between the 2 installation types are:

• Client: You can upload your files on your own. You can manually attach additional files, but you have to install the software on every user-machine. When sending you will be required to start the process.
• Server: The software will upload everything that is copied to the upload folder in the network at a specific time automatically by using a service that will be installed with the application. You have to install the software only once on a server. If you work with separate attachments that have to be added to your documents, the software has to "decide" on its own which attachment belongs to which document (usually by comparing the filenames) 

Also, there are 2 versions of Basware Message: LE versions (that start with 1.0.x and offer limited options and controls) and "full" versions (that range from 2.0.x to the latest 3.0.9 and you will have the option to select exactly what kind of files you can send and if these require additional formatting like page or invoice splitting or custom conversions).
