Summary:
The documents from individual folders are sent, but the folders are not deleted.
Basware Message can only delete the folders after the upload, if they are 100% empty.
Even if the folders look empty, there is probably a hidden file of Windows in them. More exactly, thumbs.db, a file from earlier versions of Windows that is used to increase the speed at which a folder is opened. However, today, all PCs are fast enough that this is no longer needed. Therefore, since the introduction of Windows XP, the creation of this file is not necessary. In some cases, this file is still being created in networks.
